Wouldn’t it be nice to feel better? Wouldn’t you love to have more energy or to be happier? This isn’t some commercial trying to sell you a wonder drug. Not only does one not exist, but there are simple things you can do to increase daily wellness. Whether it’s going for a walk or doing something for the mind, you can feel better naturally.
Go for a Walk or Hike
There are so many health benefits of walking or hiking. Not only is it good for overall health, but it can help you lose weight and feel better emotionally. Take time each morning or evening to go for a walk. If you love to walk with others, get the family involved. If you prefer to walk alone, grab your smartphone loaded with your favorite playlist and hit the sidewalk or trail.
Drink More Water
Let’s face it. Most of us aren’t drinking enough water. The easiest way to determine how much water you need each day is to divide your weight by two. This will equal how many ounces of water you need each day. For example, if you weigh 160 lbs, you need 80 ounces of water each day. Of course, if you work out heavily, you will need more water. For the best benefits, drink your water plain. The more you add to your water, the harder your kidneys have to work to filter the water.
Eat more Fruits and Vegetables
Fruits and Vegetables are loaded with nutrients. When you get the vitamins you need, you will naturally feel better. However, fruits and vegetables have another benefit. Many fruits and vegetables contain fiber, which helps remove waste from the body. Fiber also helps keep cholesterol in check.
Make Time for You
Many of us lead hectic lives. However, you need to make time for yourself each and every day. The reason many people burn out is that they simply do too much. You need “you” time. Each day, take an hour to do something just for you. It might be reading a good book or taking a bubble bath. Whatever it is, make sure it’s just for you.
Get More Sleep
Another problem with hectic lifestyles is that many of us don’t get enough sleep. If you’re getting less than 6 hours of sleep each night you may find that you feel run down. Do whatever it takes to sleep more each night. And no, you can’t just sleep more on the weekends and make up for not sleeping during the week. It doesn’t work that way.
Do Something for the Mind
Last, but not least, find a hobby that’s good for the mind. It might be coloring, puzzle games, writing in a journal etc. Whatever it is, make time for it. Even if its just a few minutes each day, you want to do something for the mind.
It’s not hard to improve daily wellness. All of these tips are simple and free. You may need to adjust your life a bit to make time for some of these things, but you will feel better in the end.
