You want your kids to have a successful start to the school year right? No matter what age your kids are, there are some essentials they’re going to need. It might be binders or even calculators. Here are my must have essentials to start the school year off right whether its your kids going back to school or it is you.
Let’s take a closer look at awesome essentials for a successful start to the school year.
A Family Calendar
If your kids are small, you want to make sure to have a calendar where you can write down anything important that you need to remember. This might be school plays, bake sales, etc. When your kids are smaller, they really won’t have a lot of important assignments and due dates, but there will be things you need to remember for them. As your kids get older, calendars come in handy for keeping up with sports practice, games, etc. A Family Calendar is also essential so the entire family knows what is going on for that week. We use this one from here in Norway. It really helps us to keep track of everything.
Your older kids definitely need a planner for a successful school year. A planner allows them to easily keep up with assignments and due dates. This is especially important when it comes to large projects, exams, etc. If your child like crafts, consider getting them a planner that allows for customization. I love my planner from Personal Planner. They are easy to create, ship to countless countries, and are customizable.
Small kids may find it easier to have one binder for all their folders, while older kids may need a binder for each subject. It just depends on how organized your kids want to be. Remember that no matter how hard you try, some kids will never be as organized as you would like them to be.
Folders are such a simple school supply, but they really will keep your kids organized. A folder for each class will allow them to better keep up with assignments, important papers, etc. You can find plastic folders from the Dollar Tree that are not only decorative, but made to last.
No, #2 pencils aren’t fun or exciting, but they are needed for a number of standardized tests. Unless your school uses computers for these tests, your kids will need #2 pencils.
A Pencil Pouch or Box
Depending on the age of your child, they will need a pencil pouch or box to keep up with the different supplies they’ll need. For example, smaller kids will have crayons, markers, scissors, etc, while older kids will have colored pencils, highlighters, a calculator, etc.
A Good Calculator
Smaller kids won’t need a fancy calculator and may not even be allowed to have one. Older kids will more than likely need a graphing calculator. These can be expensive, but will allow them to work on their assignments outside of the classroom. Search eBay for a good, used model.
Having a stash of essential oils are really essential for the start of the school year. They can help with back to school jitters and a whole host of other issues. They are great to help support your immunity as well as the entire families so that you don’t get all those nasty bugs.
I use elderberry tincture every single day. It really keeps me healthy and keeps all the bugs away. Since I have started using elderberry tincture I have been sick once in the past year. Prior to using it I would get sick every single time the kids would get sick. It is a life saver.
These supplies really will help your kids start the new school year on the right foot but also will keep your family and you healthy so you can have a successful year. What is on your essential back to school shopping list?
